Valentine Care Package

Do you have someone special that could use some love through the mail? A child who is college, a loved one deployed in the military or a friend or family member who has a birthday coming up? Don’t just send them something in a plain, old box! Add a special touch by lining the inside with wrapping or scrapbook paper and adding washi tape, stickers, embellishments, etc. The box I’m featuring today is the Valentine’s care package that I sent to my daughter, who is a freshman in college away from home.

First, I picked out what paper I wanted to line the box with. I chose two wrapping papers from Target. The pink heart paper can be found here: http://www.target.com/p/pink-gold-heart-gift-wrap-spritz/-/A-51359563 and the striped paper can be found here: http://www.target.com/p/gift-wrap-spritz/-/A-51438037

Then I decorated the flaps with washi tape and gold hearts that I punched out of the bigger hearts on the wrapping paper. I used pink sticker letters to say “Happy Valentine’s” and lined the letters with an aqua colored marker to make the letters stand out. I also made a heart banner with some pink jute twine, gold hearts and aqua hearts. Please head over to my YouTube video to hear how I made the banner: https://youtu.be/0iiqr6J3gHE

Finally, I filled the box with some fun gifts. Some of them I wrapped up and some I did not. I also put some coordinating tissue paper in for some padding and fill before I sent it out (not pictured of course).

I hope this has inspired you to get a little creative the next time you have a package to mail out to someone special! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to comment!
