Bible Journaling: Genesis 1:29-31

Spring is finally here and as we see all the beautiful flowers blooming, I wanted to celebrate God’s beautiful Creation! I am in Genesis 1:29-31:

29 Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. 30 And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened.

31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!

God is entrusting us with his creation, are you taking care of his gift?

In my entry I used the Loew Cornell acrylic paints and a credit card to paint the roses. I just dipped the corner of the card in the paint and made circular motions on the page. This technique created darks and lights to help with the dimensionality of the flowers. I then went in with a black Zig pen to add detail. I added red rose washi and red glitter washi to top of the page, then added my tab and rose spiral paper clip that I made. Be sure to check out my video above for the complete process.

Along the bottom I included a sticker that says, “Plant smiles, Grow laughter, Harvest love.” Not only are we supposed to take care of his physical creations, he wants us to take care of the non-physical things in our lives: our attitudes, thoughts, and relationships.  Finally, on the bottom of the page, I included washi tape that says, “Beautiful” and I stamped the date.
