Spring is here and has inspired me in my Bible journal entry for this week! I am in 2 Peter 3:18, where God tells us that as Christians we need to continually be growing in our faith. This was a verse my Good News Club students learned as we taught them the wordless book lessons over the past 5 weeks. Personally, I started Bible journaling to help me in my growth, since I have not been very diligent in reading the Bible lately.
For this entry, I tried a water color splotching technique that I learned from Jillian at Hello Jillsky on YouTube. I used a piece of acetate, a water brush pen and water colors to paint color on the acetate, then blotted the piece of acetate on to my page. Watch my process video here to see the technique:
My journaling Bible is the Inspire Bible, that already has pre-printed images on many of the pages, so for this verse there was already the verse and the tree. I used my Crayola twistable colored pencils to color the image, then I stamped various flowers around on the page with Illustrated Faith and Color Box pigment inks. I used a Zig black pen to outline the flowers. I finished the page by adding washi tape on the top and bottom of the page, then added an Illustrated Faith tab at the top.
